We would like to share our appreciation to a few special women that do way more than people know behind the scenes for our Village, especially the children of Newcomerstown. These ladies don’t do anything for recognition, but we wanted to show how truly thoughtful they are!!!

Recently, Mrs. Sandy Henry and Mrs. Linda Collins approached the Chief of Police and inquired if we could use any more blankets for our cruisers. Due to having previous donations of numerous blankets from some other extraordinary women in the community, the Chief mentioned that he has seen Officers in the past that carry stuffed animals in their cruisers for children during traumatic events.

Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Collins then took it upon themselves to purchase and donate a variety of stuffed animals to the police department. Mrs. Henry approached Barrons Design Company with her idea and they worked together to come up with these special rabbits that are customized with the NCTPD initials.

These stuffed animals will be placed in every cruiser and will be used for children during a high stress or traumatic event. This helps calm their anxiety and gives them some extra comfort in difficult situations.

We thank you ladies, and we are sure that children in Newcomerstown will thank you!!!

Plowed roads are re-covered quickly with accumulating snow. Visibility is poor.

I have passed State, County and Township trucks who are working nonstop but the accumulation is as was predicted and will be very tough to impossible to keep up with all day.

Many businesses have closed and many churches have closed or are going online only.

The extreme cold making road clearing far more difficult. Please stay home if at all possible.
