We will be conducting a controlled burn of a structure today in the area of Bunker Hill Rd. If you will be driving by please use caution. The road will be reduced to one lane in the area of the burn.

We are currently on the scene of a tree laying on power lines across the road on The Kings Highway. The road will be open soon and power will be restored.

Last night we went over all the equipment in both brush trucks to ensure readiness for the upcoming brush fire season. We also recently purchased a trailer to equip with brush fire fighting equipment including a pump that can be taken off road. Can you tell what might be wrong with it?

On March 11th at 18:34 Newcastle Fire was dispatched by county 911 to a chimney fire. Nine members responded to extinguish the fire.

Newcastle Fire Company was dispatched by Lincoln County Communications Center to a reported propane leak in a residence on Glidden St. Chief Stevens arrived on scene first and located 2 occupants that had evacuated the residence into their vehicle. The occupants were moved to a safe distance away from the residence. All arriving units kept a safe distance and propane leak response protocols were followed. CMP was requested to turn off the power to the home. In the meantime we safely notified anyone in the surrounding homes to stay inside until the problem was mitigated. The road was closed at Stewart St. to prevent anyone from entering the area. Once CMP arrived and turned off the power firefighters entered the building and metered the building to check for explosive gasses. The building was then deemed safe for the residence to return. Newcastle Fire would like to thank for helping notify local residents of the situation and to keep a safe distance.
