⚠️ BALLPARK CLOSURE NOTICE ⚠️

The Newcastle Ballpark is currently CLOSED to all users while Phase 1 construction work is underway.

For the safety of the public and construction crews, no practices, workouts, games, or recreational use of the facility will be permitted during this closure. Construction equipment, open work areas, and ongoing utility improvements create unsafe conditions for public access.

We understand the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to improve the facility for future generations of Newcastle athletes and families.

Please do not enter the construction area or remove any barricades, fencing, or closure signage.

We will provide updates as construction progresses and will announce when the facility is reopened for public use.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding

🚨 URGENT WATER NOTICE 🚨

FINAL UPDATE: Lines have been fully pressured. Crews have completed repairs.

Update 4:58 PM: Residents should plan on 1-2 additional hours for water to be restored. City crews are diligently working to restore water to all affected. Thank you for your patience.

Update 9:58 AM: Water service is currently off from NW 32nd & Country Club to the dead end of Country Club; on NW 36th from Tami Circle west to Country Club; and in Country Club Estates.

Crews are installing isolation valves to help contain the leak and restore water service as quickly as possible.

ORIGINAL POST: We have experienced a water main break at N. Country Club Rd. and Highway 37/NW 32nd St.

This will impact ALL customers north of Highway 37. Customers in this area may experience low water pressure or service interruption.

Crews are working to address the issue, but we do not have a timeframe for repairs at this time. Updates will be provided as they become available.

Before the June City Council meeting got underway, the City of Newcastle took a moment to celebrate the people who help make the community run — welcoming a new detective and honoring longtime employees whose service has shaped the city for 25 years.

Beau Ogden was sworn in as a detective with the Newcastle Police Investigations Division, bringing valuable investigative experience and a strong commitment to public service to the department and community.

Newcastle also honored three employees who have each served the city for 25 years and have been added to the Oklahoma Municipal League Honor Roll of Service:

Detective Kevin Morrissey, whose steady service and dedication have helped support the safety of Newcastle residents for a quarter century.

Utility Clerk Vetia Culp, who is often one of the first voices people hear when they come to Newcastle. As utility clerk, she helps set up utility accounts, fields questions and supports thousands of residents with patience and care.

Executive Assistant to the Planning Director Kathy James, a longtime Novocastrian, Newcastle graduate and dairy farmer whose roots in the community run deep. Through her work, Kathy helps residents, developers and city staff better understand the complexities of planning and zoning.

Their dedication reflects a lasting commitment to Newcastle and the people who call it home.

Public Notice: Crews will be performing brief maintenance at the Rockwell booster pump in approximately 20 minutes.

Residents along Highway 130 W. from Rockwell and south on Highway 76 may experience a temporary drop in water pressure lasting only a few minutes.

Thank you for your patience.

RECORD TURN OUT, TOO TOXIC TO TRASH CLOSING AT 11:15

We planned to go till noon, but the response has been incredible! We’ve reached the total allowed for our grant for hazardous disposal and we’re closing early at 11:15.

Thank you to everyone who brought in their toxic and hazardous materials for safe disposal. This is the kind of community that we love to see where we’re able to safely dispose of things.

We’ve been going strong for four years, and this year is one of our best ever!

We like to offer our sincere gratitude to the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality for this grant and the organizations whose partnership and support made the Too Toxic to Trash Household Waste Cleanup Event possible: Keep Oklahoma Beautiful; Oklahoma Turnpike Authority; The Chickasaw Nation; Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics; and RTR Environmental of Noble, Oklahoma.
