Detective Beau Ogden has completed the 21st OSBI Agents Academy, building on the investigative experience he brought with him when he joined the Newcastle Police Department.
This was no routine training course. The academy required several weeks of intensive instruction, study, testing, and a real commitment of time and energy. Detective Ogden put in that work, and we are proud of what he accomplished.
“Detective Ogden came to us as an experienced investigator, and we knew he had a solid foundation from the beginning,” said Chief Toby Garver. “What has been especially rewarding to see is the effort he put into getting better. This academy demanded a lot from him, and he stayed committed to the work. That is what we want for every officer here—to keep learning, keep growing, and keep building expertise that makes the entire team better.”
At the Newcastle Police Department, our goal is for every officer to keep developing their skills, judgment, knowledge, and professional relationships so they can become a resource not only for the public, but for one another.
For Detective Ogden, the academy expanded his knowledge of forensic resources and connected him with investigators and experts from across Oklahoma, giving him a broader network to draw from when working complex investigations.
His accomplishment is worth celebrating on its own. It also represents the kind of department we are working to build: one where individual growth strengthens the team, and a stronger team provides better service to Newcastle.
Congratulations to Detective Ogden on completing the 21st OSBI Agents Academy.
