“An Evening with Parenting Expert, Joani Geltman” will be held Thursday, November 21 at 7:00.

Please join us for our speaker, Joani Geltman. Geltman is the first of three speakers in the “Navigating the Parenting Years 2013-14 Speaker Series”, a collaboration of Newburyport Youth Services, River Valley Charter School Parents’ Alliance and RVCS, and the Rupert A. Nock Middle School PTO.

As mentioned in my previous e-mail, Geltman will be discussing how to:

· Teen-proof your home and relationship

· Set appropriate limits

· Identify and deal with experimentation with s*x, drugs and alcohol

· Identify risk factors for depression and anxiety

· Identify high expectations vs. unrealistic ones

· Identify your teen or tween’s imaginary audience and personal fable

Today is the GOLD TEAM's day at Oreganos in downtown Newburyport. Lunch or dinner...Come support the NOCK PTO. Tonight some of the Gold teachers will be serving! Oregano's is generously donating 20% from the DAY's sales...lets fill the restaurant!! Take-out or dine-in...both help!! CRIMSON - your night is next Wednesday so mark your calendar!

Wednesday, Nov 13 is Oregano's night for the GOLD Teams. Is your child on the Gold Team in either 6, 7 or 8th grade? Come to Oreganos and let your child's teachers serve you! Reservations are recommended as this is sure to be a popular night. The Gold Team is also in a competition to do more business than the Crimson Team (or vice versa?) on their night (the 20th)...take out order apply to the bottom line so if you can't sit down and enjoy a dinner..order a pizza! 20% of all proceeds go to the Nock PTO!! I realize the Red Sox are on tonight however, you need to make some time before the game starts to listen to this woman speak. She will be at the Nock Auditorium tonight at 7pm. We all have teenagers and those of us with girls realize some days they are just from a different planet. Joani has a fantastic way of providing helpful tools for our survival. And she does it while making us laugh hysterically. Let's just say she doesn't "sugar coat" anything! Hope you can make it!
