Sewer Collection System Foreman/Lift Station

The City of Newburyport is proud to recognize Kevin Lewis, Sewer Collection System/Lift Station Foreman, for his decades of dedicated service and commitment to keeping one of the City's most critical infrastructure systems running smoothly.

Kevin joined the City in 1989, beginning his career in the Sewer Department. For more than 3 decades, he has worked behind the scenes to maintain and protect Newburyport's sewer collection system, ensuring residents, businesses, and visitors can rely on essential services every day.

Working under the leadership of DPS Director Kim Turner and Sewer Collections Superintendent, Dave Shaw, Kevin oversees the City's sewer collection system and lift stations, responding to issues, performing preventative maintenance, and tackling complex challenges before they become major problems. His knowledge of the City's infrastructure is unmatched, and his expertise helps prevent costly disruptions.

Most recently, Kevin identified and resolved a problem at the Harbormaster's Facility. Through his experience and ingenuity, he was able to diagnose and fix the issue without the need for expensive outside repairs, saving the City thousands of dollars.

While much of Kevin's work takes place out of sight, its impact is felt throughout Newburyport every day. His dedication, technical expertise, and commitment to public service help keep the City's sewer system operating efficiently and reliably for everyone.

Thank you, Kevin, for your 35-plus years of outstanding service to the City of Newburyport and its residents.
