The Family Empowerment Council is a local organization that are advocates for families their mission to help people with diverse needs, to live in a safe environment where they have hope, and the opportunity to grow and achieve through informed choices. We strive to continuously achieve quality outcomes for each person while serving thousands in our community. The Pastor was awarded the prestigious LOUISE SCHWARZ CHAMPION OF CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH AND FAMILY VOICE AWARD.
Yearly, they have an annual luncheon to honor an individual who has attributes reflected in their mission and Louise Schwarz who was volunteer and advocate for youth and families.
This year the YOUTH EMPOWERMENT CENTER located on 104 South Landers in the Heights of Newburgh. The center provides community based services for youths and their families.
Pastor Deronica Austin, Executive Director of the center. Pastor and a corp of volunteers were honored by Orange County Youth Bureau for over 1200 hours of volunteerism. Pastor Austin was also honored by ORANGE COUNTY Youth Bureau for being an Outstanding Business Community Partner.
