A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity to Honor Our Vietnam Veterans!

On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the Town of Newburgh will have the honor of welcoming The Wall That Heals as its es**rted procession travels through our community!
This traveling three-quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., serves as a powerful tribute to the men and women who served, those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the families who carry their legacy forward.

🇺🇸 WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO LINE THE ROUTE STARTING AT 11:45 A.M.!

🕦 Begin gathering:11:45 a.m. CDT
🚛 Estimated Downtown Newburgh arrival: 12:10–12:15 p.m.
📍 PROCESSION ROUTE THROUGH NEWBURGH:
- Westbound off Indiana 66 onto the Ohio River Scenic Byway
- East to west along French Island Trail
- Along Jennings Street
- Continuing onto Old Indiana 662 and Indiana 662 toward the Vanderburgh County line

We invite residents, businesses, veterans, families, and community organizations to stand together along the route, wave American flags, and show our appreciation and respect as this meaningful procession passes through our historic town.

Let's show the veterans, families, and volunteers accompanying The Wall That Heals the pride, patriotism, and welcoming spirit of Newburgh, Indiana!
Please arrive early, remain on sidewalks or other safe public viewing areas, and follow the directions of law enforcement and es**rt personnel.

Fall is here, and you may have noticed an uptick in our seasonal visitors. Yes, the deer are back.

Every October and November, bucks get bolder during mating season, crossing roads with absolutely no fear and no regard for your freshly washed car. And while we admire their confidence, it does contribute to more than 14,000 deer-vehicle collisions each year in Indiana.

A couple of tips to keep in mind: Deer rarely travel solo. Spot one and assume its friends are nearby. Stay alert, buckle up, and use your high beams when it's safe.

If you see a deer, slow down and tap the horn.

And if a collision seems unavoidable, brake in your lane. Never swerve. It's far safer to hit the deer than to veer off the road or into oncoming traffic.

We—and the deers—thank you for your vigilance.

Thank you to Mary and Lucy from Honey Belle Salon for coming out today and giving us a great presentation on their salon, and Great $10 off coupons with their price sheet . Their terrific chocolate chip cookies were a hit with all of our seniors here at the Newburgh Senior Center.
