After winning best overall in the Mardi Gras parade, our members up in Lake George are busy preparing our Engine 304 for the main event today.

We wish our members best of luck today!

We would also like to take a moment to thank Middle Hope Fire Department for being on automatic response for us this weekend to help out with our members who are staying behind to ensure our district stays safe!

On Friday, June 5 at 2108 hours, Cronomer Valley’s Ladder 301 to requested to Plattekill for a 2nd alarm structure fire at 98 Fox Hill Road.

En route, we were notified of possible entrapment, and the fire was upgraded to a 3rd alarm. Upon arrival, our crew went to work, assisting Plattekill and Modena with search & fire suppression. Our firefighter Weber made a successful save on a family pet, and subsequently safely extricated himself and the cat as our other members made a swift search before fire conditions escalated and all firefighters were evacuated from the structure.

Our Rescue 303 was eventually requested to the scene for additional manpower and air bottles. We were released from service at 117 on June 6.

On Mondays we drill! 🚒

It’s important to keep our skills sharp, and to teach the future generation of firefighters.

Tonight we explored the intricacies of pumping different sized hand lines, and taught our cadets the importance of positioning when handling the intense water pressure the lines have. They performed admirably well, it’s inspiring to see the firefighters of the future so willing to learn.

If you or someone you know may be interested, come on down Mondays and Wednesdays 7-9pm and grab an application!

It is with deep regret that Cronomer Valley Fire Department announces the passing of Past Chief and life member Andrew DeGraw.

Andy joined the fire department in 2001 and served as chief from 2012-2014.

A wake for Andy will be held at the Cronomer Valley Fire Department at 296 North Plank Road, Newburgh, NY on Sunday, May 17 from 2pm to 6pm, with a firematic service at 5pm and funeral services to follow on Monday.

Cronomer Valley operating at a Brush Fire 🔥 at the Cronomer Hill Park on North Plank Road.

The fire is out and under control at this time.

We’d like to remind our residents to use caution, as brush fire season is upon us! Please avoid tossing ci******es butts, littering, and any other actions that could ignite brush fires, thank you!

Orange County will remain under a High Fire Danger Warning for today, Saturday, April 11 and tomorrow, Sunday, April 12. The New York State burn continues to be in effect.
