Thank you to everyone who joined the City of Newburgh for the 37th Annual International Festival at Delano-Hitch Recreation Park! 🎉

From delicious food and family fun to games, rides, and a spectacular fireworks finale, it was a wonderful way to celebrate our community and close out the summer together. 🎡☀️🎆

🎃👻 Calling All Trunk or Treat Volunteers! 👻🎃

The City of Newburgh in collaboration with Newburgh Enlarged City School District is looking for community members, City departments, school district staff, local organizations, and businesses to help make the 2026 Trunk or Treat a spooktacular evening for our kids! 🍬🚗👻

Host a trunk and join us for an evening of Halloween fun!

📍 Broadway between Johnston Street & Liberty Street

💦☀️LAST DAY TO USE CITY OF NEWBURGH SPLASH PADS – SEPTEMBER 13☀️💦

Please be advised, the last day to use City of Newburgh splash pads for the 2026 summer season will be Sunday, September 13, 2026.

Splash pad hours and locations are as follows:
• Xavier Lunan Park – 66 Courtney Avenue; 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• Tyrone H. Crabb Memorial Park – 94 South Street; 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• Audrey L. Carey Family Park – 251 Liberty Street; 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM

We look forward to providing families and residents with another safe and enjoyable summer next year.

🚧TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF BROADWAY BETWEEN LANDER STREET AND LIBERTY STREET🚧

Due to ongoing construction associated with the City of Newburgh Broadway Pedestrian and Traffic Signal Improvement Project, Broadway, between Lander Street and Liberty Street will be closed beginning Thursday, September 10, 2026, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

All work is limited to the intersections along Broadway. Construction work is weather-dependent and may be adjusted based on field conditions. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to follow all posted traffic control devices, signage, cones, and flagging personnel to ensure safe travel around the work zone.

The City of Newburgh appreciates the public’s patience while the City works to complete this infrastructure project. For more information, please contact the City of Newburgh Engineering Department at 845-569-7447.

The City Council and City of Newburgh staff will conduct 2027 Budget Work Sessions as part of the City’s annual budget process for Fiscal Year 2027.

The 2027 Budget Work Sessions will be held in the Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550 beginning September 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The Budget Work Sessions will continue on September 21, 2026, through September 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The City Council Legislative Priorities Meeting on September 28, 2026, will begin at 6:00 p.m. The budget work sessions will be livestreamed via the City’s website, and pages, as well as recorded. The recording will be made available at a later date.

The Newburgh City Council Work Session and Regular Council Meeting will be held in-person on the third floor of City Hall, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550.

The next Council Work Session is on Thursday, September 10, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall. Immediately following the conclusion of the Council Work Session, the City Council is expected to convene an executive session.

The next Regular Council Meeting is on Monday, September 14, 2026, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall. Members of the public who wish to provide comments regarding the agenda and general matters of City business may do so in-person at the Council Chambers in City Hall.
