City of Newburgh Recreation Department The Recreation Department is responsible for the use of and activities in the City of Newburgh's numerous parks, memorials, and smaller open spaces.

These include the Delano-Hitch Recreational Park, the beautiful Downing Park, the recently dedicated Audrey Carey Park, and several others. Parks are open to the public during posted hours, but larger groups and special activities require that a reservation request form (pdf) be filed with the Recreation Dept. You may also need to obtain an Event Permit from the City Manager's office. The multipurpose Activity Center can be rented by nonprofit organizations for various events.

This past weekend Indpenedence Day Tournament Champions!! The city came out and enjoyed great games all day!

Newburgh Jewish Community Center - Spring Break Basketball Camp
This is a 5-day basketball camp, running Monday - Friday, April 6-10, 2015, 9:00am to 1:00pm. The purpose of this camp is to teach and develop the fundamental skills of basketball in a fun and competitive environment. Our experienced coaches are trained to provide comprehensive basketball instructions to help improve upon individual basketball skills in all areas of the game. Our instructional stations are designed to develop skills in rebounding, shooting, passing, dribbling, as well as develop defensive skills. Through competition and hard work, players and coaches work together to develop a winning attitude and emphasize the importance of teamwork. Cost is $55 for residents and $65 for non-residents. Limited space is available.
