Manufacturing Day 2026 is coming this October — and we want Hudson Valley manufacturers and schools to get involved!

, on October 2nd, is an opportunity to introduce students to modern manufacturing, showcase the people and technology driving our region, and open their eyes to the many career paths available right here in the Hudson Valley.

Manufacturers: Open your doors and give students a firsthand look at what you make, how you make it and the careers that make it possible.

Schools: Get your students out of the classroom and into a local manufacturing facility to see these careers in action.

Build stronger problem-solving skills and bring practical process improvements back to your organization with Lean Six Sigma: Yellow Belt this fall!

This interactive, three-day training introduces participants to Lean Six Sigma tools and the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) process, with a focus on applying those tools to real workplace challenges. Cross-functional teams are encouraged to attend and work together on a company-specific process throughout the course.

This training is offered in partnership with Dutchess Community College and is led by Vin Buonomo of RIT’s Center for Quality and Applied Statistics.

Leadership Orange is proud to spotlight Johnnieanne Hansen, a leader dedicated to strengthening our workforce, supporting our community, and creating opportunities across the Hudson Valley.

Johnnieanne became CEO of the Council of Industry in 2025, building on years of leadership in workforce development and manufacturing. Since joining the Council in 2017, she has expanded apprenticeship and workforce initiatives, launched the Manufacturing Career Hub, and helped strengthen connections between manufacturers, job seekers, and the next generation of talent.

Her leadership extends beyond the workplace through her service as First Vice President of the Dutchess County Workforce Investment Board, Vice Chair of the SUNY Orange Foundation, and involvement with Unshattered.

Johnnieanne exemplifies what it means to lead with purpose, creating pathways, building connections, and investing in the future of our region.
