🚧Gas Mainline Replacement Project – Village of Newburgh Heights

We will be replacing approximately 663 feet of gas mainline and upgrading 24 service connections in this area. This project is designed to enhance safety and efficiency, ensuring a reliable energy supply for residents.

The estimated duration for this work is up to 20 workdays, starting March 3rd, 2025. Our team will be working closely with affected residents to ensure a smooth transition, minimizing disruption as much as possible. All authorized employees and contractors will carry official photo IDs for your security and peace of mind.

Due to the winter weather conditions, temporary concrete will be installed on sidewalks and driveways where necessary. Once temperatures allow, permanent finishing will be completed to restore the area to its original state.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete this essential upgrade.

If you have any questions or need more information, please call 1-800-544-5768.

The Association of Cleveland Fire Fighters' IAFF Local 93 regrets to announce the passing of our Brother, Firefighter Shawn Calvey, at the age of 37 due to occupational cancer. Shawn was an 8-year veteran of the Cleveland Fire Department and worked primarily out of Station 23, serving the city's Near West Side. Due to his endless work ethic, keen instincts, incredible strength, and great sense of humor, Shawn garnered universal respect and admiration from his peers. He served the people of Cleveland selflessly, displaying tenacity and courage in many life-saving incidents. Shawn was truly a larger-than-life figure and exemplified what it means to be a great Cleveland Firefighter.

While Shawn was a great person to work with, he was an even better family man. He was a loving husband to his wife Kelly, and an amazing father to his two young children, Landon (6) and Madeline (3). Shawn was a dutiful son, brother, uncle, cousin, coach, and friend to many. His impact on the lives of all he encountered is indelible and cannot be quantified.

Shawn's sacrifice in the line of duty has been recognized by the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). He will be forever enshrined on our Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial in Colorado Springs, CO, and his family will be presented this week with the IAFF Medal of Honor. The State of Ohio will also recognize Firefighter Calvey as an active Line of Duty Death.

When we look at Brother Calvey's life and legacy, we are comforted by the outpouring of love and support. He had a unique ability to care for all, making everyone feel welcome. If true friends are the measure of an individual’s wealth, Shawn was one of the world's wealthiest.

Shawn, we will miss you dearly and remember you forever. Rest easy Brother, we will take it from here.
