Tonight members finished up the vehicle rescue training which included roof removal, dash roll/lift, and steering column displacement. A few tools that we carry but don't get to use too often were also reviewed. A total of 10 members attended tonight's training.

πŸš’ Weekend Round-Up – Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company πŸš’

Over the weekend, Company 51 responded to the following calls for service:

Friday, May 29β€’ 11:43 PM – Company 51 was alerted to the 1300 block of Three Square Hollow Road for a motorcycle accident.

Saturday, May 30β€’ 10:28 AM – Company 51 was dispatched to the intersection of Oakville Road and Ridge Road for an automobile accident. Responding units included Engine 151, Utility 51, FP 51, and Chief 151.

β€’ 12:35 PM – Company 51, along with Company 52, was dispatched to the area of Duncan Road and Mud Level Road for an automobile accident.

Sunday, May 31β€’ 4:56 PM – Company 51 responded to a medical emergency within Hopewell Township.

In addition to emergency responses, Company 51 transferred to Franklin County Company 7's quarters while they hosted their carnival and had members attend the Fun Run at Hopewell Township Park.

As always, we thank our members, mutual aid partners, and the community for their continued support.

Tonight members continued to training on vehicle rescue. A brief review of stabilization was done followed by 2 door removal scenarios and then hood and trunk scenarios. Crews used both sets of Holmatro rescue tools, as well as various hand tools to complete the scenarios. A total of 8 members attended the training.

Wednesday, May 13, the members of the Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company ran 2 calls for service.

β€’ At 8:53 PM, Engine 151 responded with 3 personnel to the 11000 block of Forge Hill Rd in the 11-02 box for an inside investigation for the odor of gas. Engine 151 arrived on scene and staged until being placed back in service by Command 11.

β€’ At 9:39 PM, Company 51 was dispatched to the 300 block of Shady Rd for an outside fire. Responding units included Brush 51, Tankers 151 and 251, Engine 251, Chief 51, and Chief 251. Cumberland County Communications advised units they had received a report of a log pile on fire. Units operated on scene for approximately 2 hours before returning to service. Tanker 52 also assisted on the scene.

Thank you to all responding personnel and mutual aid companies for the assistance.
