Volunteers for Election Days are always welcome. Ideas and suggestions are always welcome. We would like to interact with the residents of Newberry County and our counterparts in other offices through out the state and country to exchange ideas, procedures and suggestions.

NOTICE: For the June 9, 2026, Primary Election ONLY, the Bush River School polling location will be closed and combined with the Bush River Fire Station polling location. Also, Metropolitan Baptist Church polling location will be closed, and Voters will vote at the Newberry Shrine Club.

STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA NEWBERRY COUNTY
The Democratic and Republican parties will hold primaries on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Any
necessary runoffs will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Any person wishing to vote in the
primaries and runoffs must register no later than Sunday, May 10, 2026. Voter registration forms
received by mail will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, May 11, 2026.
The early voting period for these primaries begins on Tuesday, May 26 and ends on Friday, June
5. The following early voting center will be open during the early voting period from 8:30 a.m.
until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed Saturdays and Sundays): Newberry County Voter

Voters will be asked to provide one of the following Photo IDs at their polling place:
 S.C. Driver's License
 ID Card issued by S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles

Voters should remember to bring one of these IDs with them to the polling place. Voters without
Photo ID can get one free of charge from their county voter registration office or the Department of

At 10:00am on Monday, June 8th, 2026, the County Board of Voter Registration and Elections will
begin its examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes at Newberry County Voter

At 10:00am on Thursday, June 11, 2026, the county board of canvassers will hold a hearing to
determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in the primaries. At 10:00am on Thursday,
June 25, 2026, the county board of canvassers will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all
provisional ballots cast in any necessary runoffs. These hearings will be held at Newberry County

2026.

STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA - COUNTY OF NEWBERRY - TOWN OF SILVERSTREET
A special election in the Town of Silverstreet will be held on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025.
Any person wishing to register to vote in this election must do so no later than Sunday,
November 30th, 2025. Voter registration by mail applications will be accepted if postmarked by
Monday, December 1st, 2025.
