TAS Parents/Guardians – Important Information About The CAMP!

Consent forms for The CAMP (Counseling and Medical Place) will be sent home with students in grades K–6 this week.

The CAMP provides medical and mental health services to TAS students ages 5–21, helping support their health and well-being right here at school.

A signed consent form must be on file before your child can receive services through The CAMP. This includes receiving common over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol, Tums, or ibuprofen.

We ask that all parents and guardians complete and return the consent form as soon as possible so services are available to your child when needed.

Thank you for helping us keep our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn!

🧡🖤 Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day from Tahquamenon Area Schools! 🧡🖤

Today, we honor and celebrate the rich history, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples, whose heritage is deeply woven into the history and identity of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and our Newberry community.

At Tahquamenon Area Schools, we are proud to serve a community shaped by generations of Indigenous families whose traditions, values, and contributions continue to enrich our schools and the place we call home.

Our community is more than a place on a map. It is the people, families, cultures, and traditions that have shaped who we are. From the generations who came before us to the students walking our hallways today, Indigenous heritage remains an important part of our shared story.

We recognize the importance of teaching our students not only about the past, but also about the living cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples today.

On this Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we celebrate our neighbors, our families, our students, and the generations who have helped make our community what it is today.

Together, we honor the past, celebrate the present, and build a future rooted in respect, understanding, and community pride.
