Join the Erie Canal Museum for a tour of Lock E28B in the Village of Newark, New York 14513. Tours in Newark will be held on Saturday, June 27 and Saturday, July 25 beginning at 10:30am. Each tour will showcase the historic infrastructure of Lock E28B and discusses how locks across NYS serve as living museums.

The 2026 Laurel House 5K is scheduled to take place on June 13th beginning at 9:00 AM at Newark's Central Park and ending on the corner of East Ave and Church St. Runners and Walkers will be participating on this certified course that travels through the lovely village of Newark. We kindly request the cooperation and understanding of our neighbors and friends along the route as we come together to support Laurel House, a comfort care home dedicated to serving the residents of Wayne County and their families during their time of need. This community event welcomes your presence, whether as a participant or spectator, to cheer on our runners and walkers. Prior to the main event a Superhero Sprint will be held at 8:30 AM on East Ave between Church St and Williams St., featuring our youngest participants and Superheroes, in a fun-filled run. The Village of Newark is pleased to announce that Ollie’s will be opening in the Arcadia Shopping Plaza in late September. Ollie’s started in 1982 selling overstock and closeout items. Today, it is America’s largest discount store chain with over 600 locations in 34 states.
