We’re back, and the energy is already here! 💙✨

The first couple of weeks of after-school programming have been filled with learning, creativity, connection, and plenty of fun. 📚🎨🙌 From reconnecting with friends and mentors to jumping into new activities, our young people are starting the year strong and making each afternoon count.

We’re excited for all the moments of growth, leadership, and discovery still ahead. 🚀🌟

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, BGCN teens are honoring a day that forever changed our nation by choosing to serve their community.

As we remember the victims, survivors, first responders, and heroes of September 11, our teens came together to prepare 500 hygiene gift bags filled with everyday essentials to distribute to members of the Newark community.

Through this project, our teens are helping carry forward a legacy of unity, compassion, and service. It is an opportunity for a new generation to understand that remembrance can also be expressed through how we care for one another and strengthen the communities around us.

Thank you to 9/11 Day and AmeriCorps for supporting our teens and helping make this day of service possible.

The BGCN Swim Team is back for the 2026–2027 season! Swimmers can strengthen their skills, build confidence, develop discipline, and experience the power of teamwork — in the pool and beyond. 💙

📅 Season: September 3, 2026–June 18, 2027
🏊 Practice: Monday–Thursday
⏰ 5:30–6:30 PM
💵 $140/month — scholarships available
⭐ BGCN membership required

Swimmers must be able to complete 25M freestyle, 25M breaststroke, and 25M backstroke with proper breathing to qualify.

BGCN's Weekday Learn-to-Swim Lessons are designed to help young swimmers learn new skills, build confidence, stay active, and have fun along the way. 💙🌊

Each $100 session includes four 30-minute group lessons over two weeks.

Congratulations to the BGCN teens who completed the Drop the Mic Podcast curriculum and earned their Podcast Creator Certification! 👏🎧

Throughout the program, teens built skills as hosts, creators, and editors while learning how to turn their ideas and voices into content they can share with the world. 💡🎙️

A special thank you to Ms. Shaleah Peyton for running the program and guiding our teens through this incredible experience. Your leadership, creativity, and dedication helped bring the Drop the Mic vision to life. 🙌
