We are happy to announce the Newark Office of Sustainability; Resilience & Community Transformation is launching a new initiative called “Heat Safe Newark”. As extreme heat is one of the fastest growing climate and public health challenges in our city today, we are launching Heat Safe Newark. A city-wide initiative focused on protecting residents from extreme heat while building a cooler, healthier, more resilient Newark.

Join us on June 4 at the William Mobile Ashby Community Center for an evening of discussion, learning, and community action from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Thank you to everyone that attended our Session 5: Workforce Pathways & Local Jobs.

During our last session, we focused on the workforce pathways, local jobs, and current programs in green jobs that exist in Newark. We also had NJEJA present on their workforce development opportunities and some of their initiatives pertaining to green jobs.

These were the key points of discussion that residents emphasized up during our session!

Newark is co-designing its energy future, and your voice is shaping it.  

Our last session on Electric Transportation & Mobility focused on the interconnectedness of local policy, shared mobility, public/private transition, charging infrastructure and safety, and how all these different pieces go together.  

These were the key points of discussion that came up during our Session 4 on Electric Transportation & Mobility.
