Meet the leadership behind the mission. 💜

Programs for Parents is proud to introduce the Executive Committee of our Board of Directors: leaders who bring decades of experience across community development, business, early childhood education, advocacy, finance, and more.

Their leadership, expertise, and commitment help guide our organization as we continue working to strengthen resources, opportunities, and support for children and families across Essex County.

✨ Swipe to meet our Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary and learn more about the experience they bring to Programs for Parents.

That “BUT WHYYYYY?” phase can feel like your child woke up one morning and hired themselves as their own attorney.

But between ages 6–10, all that questioning, negotiating, and “that’s not fair!” can be part of something bigger: they’re learning how to have a voice of their own.

Growing independence doesn’t mean every answer becomes negotiable. It means children are learning when to speak up, how to explain their thinking, how to make choices, and yes, how to accept when the answer is still no. 😅

💗 Save this for the next “But whyyyyy?” and tell us: What’s your child’s favorite thing to negotiate about?

Showing up in the community is about more than setting up a table. 💙

When Programs for Parents attends community events, we’re there to bring information closer, answer questions in real time, connect families to resources, and build relationships with the organizations working alongside them.

Sometimes the next step starts with a flyer. Sometimes it starts with a conversation. Either way, we show up so support is easier to find.

📍Look for Programs for Parents at upcoming events throughout Essex County.

Back-to-school mornings can feel a whole lot easier when your child’s sleep schedule is ready, too. 😴🎒

If summer has meant later nights and slower mornings, start making small adjustments now.

🌙 Small changes now can mean smoother mornings later.

Save this post for your family’s back-to-school reset and share it with another parent who might need the reminder! 💜

What can play tell us about a child? A lot more than you might think. 🧸🧩

In Part 3 of Behind the Resource, Susana breaks down how everyday play can give us insight into a child’s development and introduces some of the ways Programs for Parents helps families learn, connect, and grow together.

From Books, Balls & Blocks to Parent Cafés and Connections Matter events, these programs give parents opportunities to better understand their children, connect with other families, and build stronger relationships. 💜
