Labor Day Safety Campaign

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Announces Results of Labor Day Safety Campaign

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office conducted an impaired driving enforcement campaign over Labor Day weekend. This traffic safety campaign was conducted by the Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois.

The campaign resulted in 1 DUI arrest, 1 warrant arrest, 1 driving with no valid license, 10 speeding citations, 4 seat belt violations, 2 unlawful use of electronic communications device citations, 3 uninsured motorist citations, and 6 other citations.

“Through the Labor Day safety campaign, we worked with law enforcement agencies across the state to make our roads safer by raising awareness about the dangers of impaired driving and reminding motorists that impaired driving is not a game; it’s a serious decision with potentially life-changing consequences,” said Undersheriff Bobby Richardson.

This effort was part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High. Get a DUI,” and “Click It or Ticket” initiatives, funded by federal highway safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation.

National Food Safety Education Month

It's !

Did you know that 1 in 6 Americans experience foodborne illness every year?

Protect yourself and your family by practicing the 4 Core Safe Food Handling Steps:
✅Clean: Wash your hands and surfaces often (20 seconds with soap), and rinse produce under running water.
✅Separate: Keep raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs away from ready-to-eat foods to avoid cross-contamination.
✅Cook: Use a food thermometer—color isn't a reliable indicator! Ensure meats reach their safe minimum internal temperatures.
✅Chill: Refrigerate perishables within 2 hours (or 1 hour if it's over 90°F) and never thaw food on the counter.

Stay safe and eat smart!
