Homelessness is on the rise across the central Ohio region.

Building a local coordinated response system to address homelessness has been recognized as an effective strategy in addressing chronic homelessness and housing insecurity.

Licking County has many good organizations currently providing services. However, many more are needed. In addition, stakeholders, program, government, businesses and funders should work together to address this complex issue.

In last week’s CPC forum, Shannon TL Isom, CEO of the Community Shelter Board, led a conversation on the Community Shelter Board’s efforts in Franklin County. Recognized as a National Leader, CSB will be working with United Way of Licking to develop a Formal Coordinated Response system for Licking County.

Join us next Wednesday for our May CPC forum, "Building a Coordinated Response System to Address Homelessness."

Shannon TL Isom is President and CEO of Community Shelter Board, where she leads the coordinated regional system that prevents and responds to homelessness across Columbus and Franklin County. Appointed in 2023, she oversees an $82.1 million community investment that supports a network of partner agencies providing outreach, prevention, shelter, and housing programs — all working together to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring.
Shannon brings more than 20 years of executive leadership spanning public health, nonprofit management, medicine, and business, with deep expertise in equity and the social determinants of health.

Women United witnessed history being made at this year's Kentucky Derby Jubilee!

Guests dressed in vibrant outfits and elaborate hats to enjoy hot brown sliders, savory riblets, and delicious desserts as they watched the 157th Kentucky Derby unfold.

Despite the odds, Golden Tempo won the race, making Cherie DeVaux the first female trainer to win the Kentucky Derby! Her accomplishment serves as a reminder that with determination, you can overcome any odds, even if they are 23-1!
