Congratulations to our NYLP interns Vanessa and Sharlize for becoming finalists in Butterfly Dreamz Newark Youth Story competition! Congrats especially to Vanessa, Science Park sophomore, who won 2nd place! These Newark students can boldly and confidently say, "I Am an Author!" On Saturday, October 22nd at the Newark Public Library, over 50 family and community members came out to support their accomplishments in the Butterfly Dreamz Newark Youth Story Competition!

During Saturday's I Am an Author Showcase, the Butterfly Dreamz team released My City Sketched in Words, a book authored by the competition's finalists (6th - 12th grade) in honor of the city’s 350th Anniversary.

Free copies of the book are available at the Newark Public Library and the e-book is available for free on the Butterfly Dreamz website: www.butterflydreamz.org/books. Additional copies can also be purchased on Amazon; all proceeds will support Butterfly Dreamz literacy and leadership development programming.
