Did you know that CCE has been instrumental in both the starting and sustaining of the Clyde Community Garden? In 2021, a Clyde resident, with assistance from CCE's SOAR initiative and community members started the Clyde Community Garden. Last year and this, CCE was awarded grant funds which made it possible to hire Clyde resident, Rachel Semmel, as the garden director. Grant funds have made it possible to purchase much needed gardening equipment as well as picnic tables and benches which help to make the garden a welcoming venue.
Rachel works closely with community service organization, Clyde SPAN, to organize garden events such as the Planting-Palooza and the Free Pilates Class. Upcoming is the annual Art & Music at the Garden event and in August the garden will partner with a local business to hold a Botanical Soap Making class where they will use flowers and herbs from the community garden.
The Clyde Community Garden is for all. Anyone can stop and visit, water, w**d, or harvest. Stop by and check it out! It is located along the Erie Canal on Water Street in Clyde.

Is the news about screwworm making you feel anxious? Here’s some information to ease that - for example, they don’t spread from animal to animal, and the screwworms aren’t likely to thrive in our climate.
