Our Community Engagement Team was honored to participate in Camden Street Elementary School’s Boys Empowerment Event, where Officer Tahir Brown spent the day encouraging young men to lead with confidence, purpose, and character.

When we invest in our youth, we invest in the future of our communities. Through mentorship, conversation, and positive role models, events like these remind young people that their dreams matter, their voices matter, and their futures are bright.

Thank you to Camden Street Elementary School for creating a space dedicated to uplifting and empowering the next generation of leaders.

🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride Month!

Essex County is strengthened by the many people, cultures, experiences, and identities that make up our community. This month, we celebrate the contributions, resilience, and impact of our LGBTQ+ residents, colleagues, neighbors, friends, and family members.

At the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, we are committed to serving every member of our community with dignity, respect, and fairness. Pride Month is an opportunity to recognize the value of inclusion, celebrate authenticity, and continue building a county where everyone feels welcome and supported.

On behalf of Sheriff Amir D. Jones and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, we wish everyone a safe, joyful, and meaningful Pride Month.

🐎 Meet the Essex County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit!

It’s an exciting time at ECSO as we introduce our new Mounted Unit, expanding the ways we engage with and serve communities throughout Essex County. Sergeant George Sona and Detective John Patiño patrol alongside their trusted partners, Judge and Sharpshooter aka Mr. Love.

Whether attending community events, connecting with residents, or serving as a visible presence throughout Essex County, the Mounted Unit helps strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the communities we serve.

Special thanks to our Sheriff Amir D. Jones, Executive Undersheriff Arthur Jorge, and the Newark Police Division for their leadership, partnership, and support in helping establish the Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit.

Interested in having the Mounted Unit at your next community event? Email [email protected].

On behalf of Sheriff Amir D. Jones, congratulations to all of today’s honorees and thank you to the families, loved ones, and community partners who continue to support this mission every step of the way.
