Twenty-five years after the attacks of September 11, 2001, the Essex County Sheriff’s Office remembers the lives lost and reflects on a day that forever changed our nation.
A quarter century later, the passage of time has not diminished their memory or weakened our solemn promise to never forget. For those who lived through that day, the memories remain vivid. For the generations who have come after, we share a responsibility to preserve its history and carry its lessons forward.
Under the leadership of Sheriff Amir D. Jones, our Office honors that legacy through service, vigilance and an unwavering commitment to protecting the communities we are entrusted to serve.
Today, we renew our promise: their lives, their stories and their sacrifices will never fade from our nation’s memory.
