Where it all began...
In 1988 Par Excellence Learning Center a non-denominational non-profit private school was founded by Reverend and Mrs. Their mission was to establish an academic center of excellence designed to nurture students. Their mission was to aid in breaking the cyclical effects of low self-esteem, academic underachievement and provide motivation that will encourage them to be achiev
e and believe in themselves. In May 2005, Par Excellence Learning Center was granted the opportunity to become a community school in hopes to reach more students and their families in the Newark and surrounding areas. The school is now called Par Excellence Academy. Par Excellence Academy, formally Par Excellence Learning Center is a non-profit charter community school that is sponsored by Ohio Department of Education. Par Excellence is an urban K-6th grade school. Values Statement

Par Excellence Academy is unique from other schools and is the first of its kind. The concept is simple; we attempt to meet the child’s whole needs by servicing the family unit. With great anticipation and success it is hoped that this school and concept would be used as a model for other schools throughout the nation. In addition to providing education to the children in the family, we also look at each family individually. By assessing their needs, we can locate and provide services that can help families handle the financial and parenting burdens of today.
