I wanted to make a stretch run before I declared my candidacy for Newark City Council 2022 elections. I had a wonderful time participating in the Newark Days 4K run. The diversity of Newark and the enthusiastic spirit of our residents were amazing. Newark was represented by a sea of runners, eager to march us in the future.

The same holds true for our democracy: participation is key to its success. ‘We the People' have a collective responsibility in this framework. This election year, that collective responsibility is visible with so many amazing residents in the race for the City Council. This is a great sign, we need diverse perspectives to strengthen our city’s governance.

My campaign and governance mantra is simple: Engage, Evolve and Solve. With your collaboration and participation, we can do wonders.

As a kickoff to my humble campaign, my goal is to walk/bike as much of Newark as possible, to engage and listen to you all.

I appreciate all the support and encouragement.

Please Vote!( Responsibly)

What a run Newark, we came within striking range of earning a council seat, All of this could not have been possible without your support. As a grass-root campaign not only were we able to reach our communities, but also created a positive impact in terms of planning for a sustainable Newark. In terms of numbers we garnered more than 6300 votes, just 3% point shy of making it to the city council. We’ll keep the momentum and stand for the causes we as residents of Newark care for.
Protecting our wetlands.
Diverse commission to represent our voices, issues and plans
District level representation for a more inclusive governance
Empowering Youth in the fold of governance.

The election cycle is over, but my commitment and our resolve to sustainable progress for Newark is continued. I’ll be reaching out to the community through various platforms and channels to engage in governance.

Again, this run is a collective run, and a collective victory irrespective of the outcome.

Keep engaged Newark

Thanks for the overwhelming support ~ 3474 votes, still counting.
The county will update the results today at 5 pm, stay tuned. Great turnout Newark, at the end of the day it looks like we will be close to 80% turnout with around 20K ballot cast. A historical record for Newark.

The thought of us giving up on the 1.5 or well below 2°C-targets of the Paris Agreement - without people even knowing what the full consequences of that would mean to future generations and to the most affected people and areas - is simply unacceptable.

The way the global aspect of equity and climate justice is being systematically and completely ignored in the European debate is shameful.
Yes, WE might be able to ”adapt”, for a while. We have the infrastructure and the resources.
But the global majority has not.

When the EU's climate policies and targets are being discussed, the aspect of equity doesn’t even seem to exist. Apparently it’s not even worth a mention. And yet, climate justice is the very heart of the Paris Agreement. And we have clearly signed up to lead the way.
