Interview Projects have long been one of the most impactful parts of our HOPEworks curriculum. 💼 Students take part in mock interviews with real professionals, receiving thoughtful feedback on everything from their answers to their handshake. This year, we added a new event focused on the elevator pitch, giving students even more opportunity to prepare and grow.

We're thrilled to announce Julienne H. Silverman as our new Board Chair! 🎉 Julie has been part of our Board of Directors since 2014, including 11 years as Vice Chair, and has been instrumental in growing our Humor for HOPE fundraiser into one of our signature events.

Stepping into the role of Vice Chair is Mary Ann Betsch, bringing incredible financial expertise to the table. We're also deeply grateful to outgoing Chair Alix Oliver for a year of dedicated leadership, and we’re delighted she's staying on as an active board member.

Together, this team will help HOPE advance our five-year strategic plan, Home Of Prosperity and Empowerment, as we continue creating pathways to prosperity for New Yorkers facing barriers to employment.

HOPE is excited to spotlight two exciting transitions within our Board! 🎉

We're thrilled to welcome Katharine Lynn to our Board of Directors. A founding member of our Associate Board, Katharine served as its Chair for four years, helping build the AB into what it is today. We're also excited to welcome Tristan Cooke as the new Chair of the Associate Board and a new member of the Board! Tristan has served on the AB for over three years, most recently as Vice Chair, where his diligence helped drive the AB's continued success.

We're incredibly grateful for their years of service and look forward to seeing their continued impact. Please join us in congratulating Katharine and Tristan on these well-deserved new roles!

This past week, our cohort got to learn from the incredible Faiza Javaid — a lawyer specializing in AI, digital media, and data privacy — who came in through the Robin Hood professionals network to help our participants sharpen their elevator pitches and build confidence heading into interviews. Then she went table to table, listening, coaching, and cheering everyone on.
