OneNYC is thrilled to congratulate Anthony Shorris on his appointment as President & CEO of NYCEDC

Tony is an exceptionally experienced leader who knows City government inside and out. As a former First Deputy Mayor who has served across three mayoral administrations, he is deeply respected throughout New York City and State government, while also bringing tremendous credibility with the private sector.

We could not think of a better choice to lead the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Beyond his extensive public and private sector experience, Tony has consistently demonstrated a genuine commitment to public service and the public good.

Zohran Kwame Mamdani continues to demonstrate a unique ability to bring together highly credible, principled, and effective leaders. New Yorkers are fortunate to have Tony in this role.

Good things for New York City, the City keep winning! 🥇

Congratulations to Tony Shorris on your appointment as President & CEO of NYCEDC by Mayor Mamdani🎉

We're looking forward to his leadership as we continue building a more equitable and resilient economy and creating good-paying jobs for all New Yorkers!

The Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani, the Deputy Mayor for Economic Opportunity, and all New Yorkers are fortunate to have Tony in this role. Good things are ahead, God-willing.

We are proud to formally announce OneNYC’s Truth & Trade-Offs Initiative.

Our commitment is to help New York’s elected officials, government leaders, and communities better understand the interconnectedness of our systems, clarify the trade-offs embedded in public policy, and provide a framework of questions—not predetermined answers—to inform better decision-making.

We will remain focused on the issues that matter most to New Yorkers:

1. Illustrating the trade-offs embedded in major policy decisions.

2. Mitigating the cycle of disappointment and distrust that too often emerges when campaign soundbites meet governing realities. Regardless of ideology, New Yorkers benefit when our elected officials succeed and deliver meaningful results.

3. Driving solutions grounded in reality and anchored in the interconnected systems that shape New York’s affordability, competitiveness, productivity, and quality of life.

Making the complexity of government simple—so we can focus on what matters most: Ex*****on and Delivery!

Follow us for upcoming announcements on partnership opportunities and bringing OneNYC to your District(s) and communities!

“The Future of the Democratic Party” - NY-7
Congressional Debate 2026

Three candidates running for New York’s 7th Congressional District come together in a rare moment of consensus — all three agree the U.S. must end the war on Iran, overturn Citizens United, and that the Democratic Party should stop accepting money from pharmaceutical companies and corporate PACs. Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, NYC Council Member Julie Won, and NY State Assembly Member Claire Valdez make the case that a new generation of Democrats must be accountable to their constituents — not their donors. Watch the full debate highlight reel and decide for yourself who’s ready to fight for New York’s 7th.

“We Need to Stop Being a Puppet of the Netanyahu Government” NY07 Congressional Candidate Julie Won

NYC Council Member Julie Won gets personal in the NY-7 Congressional Debate, connecting her family’s experience as survivors of Hiroshima directly to her stance on U.S. foreign policy today. She calls out the blank check the U.S. has been writing to the Israeli government and argues that Congress must take back its power to approve any war or defense spending.

“No Single Politician Can Win This Alone” - Claire Valdez on Building a Movement

New York State Assembly Member Claire Valdez closes out the NY-7 Congressional Debate with a rallying call for the labor movement, citing 16,000 individual donors and 1,300 volunteers knocking doors across the district. Her message: unions for all, housing for all, Medicare for all, but none of it happens without people organizing together.
