Love makes a family. So does care, community, and belonging.

This Month, we celebrate the many ways families are formed—and affirm that every family, regardless of identity or orientation, deserves stable, safe, and dignified housing.

Because every family deserves a home. 🏳️‍🌈

Today, a broad coalition representing every corner of New York City’s housing ecosystem came together with a shared message: expanding CityFHEPS is one of the most important steps the City can take to address homelessness and improve housing affordability.

CityFHEPS is more than a housing voucher. It helps families move from shelter to permanent housing, prevents homelessness, supports the preservation of affordable housing, and strengthens communities across the five boroughs. It is a proven tool that benefits both New Yorkers in need of housing stability and the city’s broader housing infrastructure.

With more than 100,000 New Yorkers experiencing homelessness, including approximately 30,000 children, the cost of inaction is too high.

We are calling on Mayor Mamdani to withdraw the City’s appeal and fully implement the expansion of CityFHEPS. Housing stability is not only a moral imperative. It is a proven, cost-effective investment in New York City’s future.

This AANHPI Heritage Month, our “Bayanihan in Action” workshop reminded us that sustaining human services work requires more than programs and policies—it requires intentional spaces for reflection, healing, and collective care.

Rooted in the Filipino values of kapwa (shared humanity) and bayanihan (community solidarity), the conversation highlighted a powerful truth: communities thrive when care is shared, relational, and embedded in the way we work together.

In homelessness services, burnout is too often treated as inevitable. It shouldn’t be. Investing in staff well-being is essential to building stronger systems of care for families, communities, and the workforce that supports them.

Thank you to Dr. Jeannie Celestial for leading this timely and meaningful conversation during AANHPI Heritage Month.

An evening dedicated to rest, joy, and community 🧡

Win was proud to partner with Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso to host a Mother’s Day Beauty Parlor for 50 mothers living in one of our Brooklyn shelters. The celebration included yoga and sound baths, manicures, makeup services, family portraits, a sip-and-paint experience, dinner, and more — creating space for mothers to unwind and be celebrated.

For families experiencing homelessness, moments of self-care and wellness are often out of reach while navigating the demands of housing instability and daily survival. This event was a reminder that every mother deserves opportunities to feel cared for, appreciated, and supported.

Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and partners for helping make this special night possible.

Every mother deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated. This Mother’s Day, Win partnered with Amazon to host a baby shower for 200 new and expecting mothers living in shelter across New York City, helping provide essential caregiving items like diapers, strollers, clothing, and newborn necessities to families navigating housing insecurity.

At a time when nearly 4,000 babies are born in NYC shelters each year, partnerships like this are about more than gifts. They are about dignity, stability, and ensuring mothers and babies have the support they need to thrive. We are grateful to , our community partners, and every volunteer who helped make this day possible as we continue advocating for a city where every family has a safe place to call home.

Special thanks to Angela Pinsky and Jess Schumer for their support in making this celebration possible. 🧡

What an unforgettable evening. ✨

Thank you to the incredible community that made this year’s Way to Win Gala such a powerful and inspiring night in support of families experiencing homelessness across NYC.

From powerful remarks by , to moving stories from Win leadership and one of our clients, the evening was a reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together to build brighter futures.

A special thank you to our honorees, Bruce Mosler, Chairman of Global Brokerage, Military and veterans Program at and for their leadership and commitment to supporting families in New York City. We’re also grateful to for hosting such a beautiful evening.

Every table purchased, every balloon raised, every donation made, and every person in the room helped move Win’s mission forward: breaking the cycle of homelessness by helping families rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and opportunity.

Because tomorrow’s New York is shaped by what we do today.
