UN Security Council Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security

On 19 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Jonibek Hikmat, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations participated in and addressed the Security Council Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security.

In his statement, the Permanent Representative outlined national measures to advance the implementation of Security Council resolution 1325, highlighting Tajikistan’s National Action Plan, strengthened institutional frameworks—including the Committee on Women and Family Affairs—and the increasing representation of women in Parliament, Government and local authorities.

Ambassador Hikmat also underscored Tajikistan’s 2025 chairmanship of the Central Asian Women Leaders’ Caucus and the successful convening of the “Women, Peace and Security” forum in Dushanbe, which brought together women leaders from across Central Asia to promote joint initiatives in support of regional stability.

He further welcomed Tajikistan’s election to the Commission on the Status of Women for the 2027–2031 term, describing it as an important opportunity to contribute to global efforts to advance gender equality.

19 июни соли 2026, Намояндаи доимии Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон дар Созмони Милали Муттаҳид Ҷонибек Ҳикмат дар ҷаласаи кушоди Шурои Амният дар мавзуи "Занон, сулҳ ва амният" иштирок ва суханронӣ намуд.

Зимни суханронӣ, Намояндаи доимии Тоҷикистон аз талошҳои кишвар ҷиҳати татбиқи Қатъномаи 1325-и Шуро ёдрас гардида, таваҷҷуҳи иштирокдоронро ба раванди амалисозии Нақшаи миллии амали Тоҷикистон, тақвияти механизмҳои институтсионалӣ, ба вежа фаъолияти Кумитаи занон ва оила, инчунин афзоиши намояндагии занон дар парлумон, Ҳукумат ва мақомоти маҳаллӣ ҷалб кард.

Ҷ. Ҳикмат инчунин аҳамияти раёсати Тоҷикистонро дар Муколамаи занони Осиёи Марказӣ дар соли 2025 ва баргузории муваффақонаи форуми "Занон, сулҳ ва амният" дар Душанбе, ки занони фаъолро аз саросари минтақа барои баррасии ташаббусҳои муштарак оид ба тақвияти суботи минтақавӣ ба ҳам овард, таъкид кард.

Иҷлоси солонаи Шурои иҷроияи UNDP, UNFPA ва UNOPS

11 июни соли 2026 дар қароргоҳи СММ дар Ню-Йорк таҳти раисии Ҷонибек Ҳикмат, Намояндаи доимии Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон дар СММ, ҳамзамон ноиби президенти Шурои иҷроияи Барномаи рушди СММ (UNDP), Хазинаи нуфуси СММ (UNFPA) ва Дафтари СММ оид ба хизматрасониҳои лоиҳавӣ (UNOPS) бахшҳои Иҷлоси солонаи Шурои иҷроия баргузор гардид.

Дар ҷараёни ҷаласаҳо масъалаҳои марбут ба иҷрои вазифаҳои мудирият ва назоратии Шурои иҷроия, Стратегияи баробарии гендерии UNDP барои солҳои 2026–2029, гузориши солона оид ба татбиқи Стратегияи баробарии гендерӣ барои солҳои 2022–2025 ва тамдиди як қатор барномаҳои кишварии UNDP ва UNFPA баррасӣ шуданд.

Аз рӯи натиҷаи муҳокимарониҳо, Шурои иҷроия Стратегияи баробарии гендерии UNDP барои солҳои 2026–2029 ва гузориши солонаро ба инобат гирифта, қарорҳои дахлдорро оид ба тамдиди барномаҳои кишварии UNDP ва UNFPA қабул намуд.

Annual Session of the Executive Board of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS

On 11 June 2026, segments of the Annual Session of the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) were held at United Nations Headquarters in New York under the chairmanship of Mr. Jonibek Hikmat, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations and Vice-President of the Executive Board.

During the meetings, the Executive Board considered issues related to the assessment of its governance and oversight functions, the UNDP Gender Equality Strategy 2026–2029, Annual report on the implementation of the UNDP gender equality strategy, 2022-2025 and the extension of several UNDP and UNFPA country programmes.

Following the discussions, the Executive Board took note of the UNDP Gender Equality Strategy 2026–2029, the Annual report and adopted the relevant decisions concerning the extension of UNDP and UNFPA country programmes.

10 июни соли 2026 Намояндаи доимии Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон дар Созмони Милали Муттаҳид Ҷонибек Ҳикмат бо Муовини Дабири кулли СММ оид ба масъалаҳои иқтисодӣ ва иҷтимоӣ ҷаноби Ли Ҷунхуа мулоқот анҷом дод.

Зимни мулоқот ҷонибҳо натиҷаҳои Конфронси чоруми байналмилалӣ оид ба Даҳсолаи байналмилалии амал «Об барои рушди устувор, солҳои 2018–2028», ки дар шаҳри Душанбе баргузор гардид, мавриди баррасӣ қарор доданд. Ҳамчунин масъалаҳои вобаста ба татбиқи натиҷаҳои Конфронс ва пешбурди ташаббусҳои байналмилалии марбут ба соҳаи об муҳокима шуданд.

Таваҷҷуҳи махсус ба татбиқи ташаббусҳои ҷаҳонии обии Президенти Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон муҳтарам Эмомалӣ Раҳмон, аз ҷумла пешниҳоди таъсиси «Чаҳорчӯби обии Душанбе» ҳамчун замина барои таҳкими ҳамкориҳои байналмилалӣ ва суръат бахшидан ба амалҳо дар доираи рӯзномаи ҷаҳонии об, зоҳир гардид.

Ҳамсӯҳбатон инчунин роҳҳои таҳкими ҳамкориҳои минбаъдаи Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон ва низоми Созмони Милали Муттаҳидро дар пешбурди рӯзномаи ҷаҳонии об, аз ҷумла тавассути ташкили чорабиниҳо ва иқдомҳои муштарак дар ҳошияи Форуми сатҳи баланд оид ба рушди устувор (HLPF), баррасӣ намуданд.

On 10 June 2026, Mr. Jonibek Hikmat, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations, met with Mr. Li Junhua, Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the outcomes of the Fourth International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018–2028, held in Dushanbe. They discussed follow-up measures aimed at advancing the implementation of the Conference outcomes and related international water initiatives.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the global water initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon, including the proposal to establish the “Dushanbe Water Framework” as a platform for advancing international cooperation and accelerating action on the global water agenda.

The interlocutors also reviewed opportunities for further strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations system in promoting the global water agenda, including through joint activities and events in the framework of the upcoming High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF).

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration in support of the preparations for the forthcoming United Nations Conferences on Water in 2026 and 2028.

Иштироки ҳайати Тоҷикистон дар мубоҳисаҳои умумии ҷаласаи 19-уми Конфронси давлатҳои иштирокчии Конвенсияи СММ оид ба ҳуқуқҳои маъюбон

10 июни соли 2026 ҳайати Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон таҳти роҳбарии муовини Вазири тандурустӣ ва ҳифзи иҷтимоии аҳолии Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон Ҳабибулло Муҳиддин дар мубоҳисаҳои умумии ҷаласаи 19-уми Конфронси давлатҳои иштирокчии Конвенсияи Созмони Милали Муттаҳид оид ба ҳуқуқҳои маъюбон, ки дар қароргоҳи СММ дар шаҳри Ню-Йорк баргузор гардид, иштирок ва суханронӣ намуд.

Зимни суханронӣ таъкид гардид, ки Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон аз замони имзои Конвенсия дар соли 2018 ҷиҳати мутобиқ намудани қонунгузории миллӣ ба меъёрҳои байналмилалӣ ва таъмини ҳуқуқҳои шахсони дорои маъюбият тадбирҳои пайгирона амалӣ менамояд.Дар ин замина дар баробари қабули як қатор барномаҳои дахлдор, инчунин лоиҳаи нави Қонуни Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон «Дар бораи ҳуқуқҳои маъюбон» таҳия шудааст, ки тибқи арзёбии коршиносони байналмилалӣ пурра ба меъёрҳо ва муқаррароти Конвенсияи СММ оид ба ҳуқуқҳои маъюбон мутобиқат мекунад.

Participation of the Delegation of Tajikistan in the General Debate of the 19th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD

On 10 June 2026, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, led by Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Habibullo Muhiddin, participated and delivered a statement during the General Debate of the 19th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

In his statement, he emphasized that since signing the Convention in 2018, the Republic of Tajikistan has been consistently implementing measures aimed at harmonizing its national legislation with international standards and ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities. In this regard, alongside the adoption of a number of relevant programmes, a new draft Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” has been developed, which, according to assessments by international experts, is fully compliant with the norms and provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

It was also noted that, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention, a series of events are being organized in Tajikistan this year with the participation of international organizations and civil society representatives. In addition, a Roadmap is being developed to consolidate the achievements made to date and to identify new measures related to social protection and the implementation of the rights of persons with disabilities. It was underscored that the Republic of Tajikistan will continue to pursue its policy of state support for persons with disabilities and older persons, while promoting improvements in their quality of life and social inclusion.

Чорабинии канорӣ оид ба ҳамкорӣ дар самти рушди иҷтимоӣ дар Осиёи Марказӣ

8 июни соли 2026 дар қароргоҳи СММ дар ҳошияи ҷаласаи 19-уми Конфронси давлатҳои иштирокчии Конвенсияи СММ оид ба ҳуқуқҳои маъюбон чорабинии канории ҳайати Тоҷикистон таҳти унвони «Осиёи Марказӣ – Департаменти масъалаҳои иқтисодӣ ва иҷтимоии СММ, ҳамкориҳо дар самти рушди иҷтимоӣ» баргузор гардид. Чорабинии мазкур дар ҳамкорӣ бо кишварҳои Осиёи Марказӣ ва Департаменти масъалаҳои иқтисодӣ ва иҷтимоии СММ (UNDESA) ташкил карда шуд.

Дар чорабинӣ муовини Вазири тандурустӣ ва ҳифзи иҷтимоии аҳолии Ҷумҳурии Тоҷикистон Ҳабибулло Муҳиддин суханронӣ намуда, дастовардҳои кишварро дар самти ҳифзи иҷтимоӣ, дастгирии шахсони дорои маъюбият ва шаҳрвандони синни калонсол ироа намуд.

Side Event on Social Development Cooperation in Central Asia

On 8 June 2026, at the initiative of the delegation of Tajikistan, a side event entitled “Central Asia – UNDESA Work on Social Development” was held at United Nations Headquarters in New York on the margins of the 19th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The event was organized in cooperation with the countries of Central Asia and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).

During the event, Mr. Habibullo Muhiddin, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, delivered statement highlighting the country’s achievements in strengthening social protection and advancing support for persons with disabilities and older persons. He underscored that, under the wise leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon, large‑scale reforms of the social protection system have been implemented, accompanied by consistent measures to enhance the efficiency, accessibility, and coverage of social services.

It was further emphasized that Tajikistan is currently in the final stages of ratifying the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, supported by ongoing efforts to strengthen national legislation and reinforce the institutional framework in this sector.

The event reaffirmed the Central Asian countries’ strong commitment to advancing regional cooperation aimed at fostering an inclusive society and ensuring the full participation of persons with disabilities and older persons in all aspects of social life.

Participation in the UN International Bazaar

On 2 June 2026, the UN International Bazaar, a charity event, was held at the United Nations Headquarters. The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations, along with the missions of other Member States, took part in the event.
Visitors were offered a variety of traditional Tajik dishes and sweets, as well as displays of the country’s folk crafts.
