Coolest buildings my son and I saw last week in New York City. Can you pick out the Apple Store that was a post office? Can you pick out my aunt and uncle who had apartments and a studio at at 222 Bowery? They took a photo in front of that post office. BYW - I have a love fire escapes.

My son Matthew, and I got to see the Kieth Haring mural at Carmine Street Swimming Pool.

This permanent mural was executed by Haring at the City of New York Parks and Recreation public swimming pool at Carmine Street and Seventh Avenue in Greenwich village. Executed in 1987, the mural was restored by the Haring foundation 10 years later.

Matthew and I grabbed a bagel from a famous Bagels&Smear spot in uptown NYC on Sunday morning. There was no place to sit but the edge flower bed on the median of East 26th Street. No one called the NYPD 🙂 went by 222 Bowery that evening.

Picking up the Michael Goldberg painting was a success in upstate New York. Thank you for the help, my friend Melissa - you're awesome. Uncle Mike lived at 222 Bowery, where William Burroughs lived, where poet and performance artist John Giorno lived, where Andy Warhol partied and made his first art film, 'Sleep,' and where Mark Rothko had his studio in the gymnasium of the former YMCA. The YMCA at 222 Bowery was built to help young men on the Bowery stay away from alcohol, exercise, and learn how to read; they even had a baseball team. When it first opened, it was called the Young Men’s Institute.
