Every New Yorker knows the relief of standing under a tree on a hot day. Trees are one of the most powerful and accessible tools we have to fight !

That’s why we’re making sure every community can feel that relief. With a goal of 30% canopy by 2040, NYC’s first-ever is grounded in equity, resilience, and long-term care.

From New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA)'s Red Hook Houses with New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, we’re proud to launch this roadmap for a cooler, healthier, and more equitable city for all New Yorkers.

Thank you to the thousand of New Yorkers who filled out the EJ community questionnaire! Also this week, we had an amazing in person feedback session where for almost three hours, more than 25 people joined us to talk about environmental justice issues affecting East Harlem.

Thank you to the community and to our partners!
