Фантастичні новини з ООН!
Маємо нову велику дипломатичну перемогу України!
Щойно українську представницю Світлану Ільчук було обрано до складу Комітету ООН з прав дитини.
Ми набрали 111 голосів!
Україні вдалося перемогти у надзвичайно конкурентній виборчій кампанії, яку наша дипмісія вела протягом останніх шести місяців не лише тут, у штаб-квартирі ООН у Нью-Йорку, а й фактично в усіх куточках світу.
На дев’ять місць у Комітеті претендували сімнадцять кандидатів із різних регіонів світу — визнані фахівці у сфері захисту прав дитини.
Конкуренція була колосальною, адже до складу Комітету обираються не стільки представники держав, скільки незалежні експерти з бездоганною професійною репутацією та міжнародним авторитетом у цій сфері.
Ця дипломатична перемога України в Нью-Йорку є ще одним свідченням того, що позиції України в Організації Об’єднаних Націй поступово зміцнюються.
Водночас це і визнання вагомої ролі української дипломатії та знак особливої довіри з боку міжнародної спільноти до нашої держави.
Щиро вдячні всім, хто був залучений до цього відповідального процесу: нашим колегам з Центрального апарату МЗС України за координацію, та нашим колегам-дипломатам у посольствах України по всьому світу, які долучилися до кампанії щодо просування нашої кандидатури.
Тож наші найсердечніші вітання Світлані Ільчук з її обранням до Комітету з прав дитини. Зичимо успіхів у цій відповідальній місії!
Окрема подяка нашому election officer - аташе Аліні Чалій, яка зробила особистий внесок у цю дипломатичну перемогу.
Особливого значення це обрання України набуває сьогодні, коли вітчизняна дипломатія продовжує боротьбу за повернення тисячів українських дітей, яких Росія викрала і насильно депортувала, незаконно перемістивши з окупованих територій.
Комітет ООН з прав дитини є головним експертним органом у системі ООН, що здійснює моніторинг за імплементацією Конвенції ООН про права дитини 1989 р.
Тож відтепер Україна матиме додатковий потужний козир для повернення українських дітей, а також відстоювання прав мільйонів дітей, котрі потерпають від російської агресії.
Нинішня перемога в Нью-Йорку - це ще один доказ того, що навіть у найскладніші часи українська дипломатія здатна і надалі перемагати.

Fantastic news from the United Nations!
Ukraine has achieved another major diplomatic victory.
Just now, Ukraine’s representative, Ms Svitlana Ilchuk, was elected to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child.
Ukraine received 111 votes.
This victory came after an exceptionally competitive election campaign, which our Mission has conducted over the past six months not only here at UN Headquarters in New York, but also across the globe.
Seventeen candidates from different regions of the world , all recognized experts in the protection and promotion of children’s rights, competed for nine seats on the Committee.
The competition was truly intense, as members of the Committee are elected not simply as representatives of States, but as independent experts with impeccable professional reputations and recognized international authority in this field.
This diplomatic victory in New York is yet another sign that Ukraine’s standing within the United Nations continues to grow stronger.
At the same time, it is a recognition of the important role of Ukrainian diplomacy and a powerful sign of trust in our country from the international community.
We are sincerely grateful to everyone involved in this important process: our colleagues at the Central Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for their coordination, as well as our fellow diplomats at Ukrainian embassies around the world who contributed to the campaign to promote our candidacy.
Our warmest congratulations to Svitlana Ilchuk on her election to the Committee on the Rights of the Child. We wish her every success in this important mission.
A special word of gratitude goes to our Election Officer, Attaché Alina Chala, whose personal contribution helped make this diplomatic victory possible.
This election carries particular significance today, as Ukrainian diplomacy continues its struggle for the return of thousands of Ukrainian children abducted and forcibly deported by Russia, as well as illegally transferred from the occupied territories.
The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child is the key expert body within the United Nations system responsible for monitoring the implementation of the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
From now on, Ukraine will have an additional powerful instrument in its efforts to bring Ukrainian children home and to defend the rights of millions of children suffering as a result of Russia’s aggression.
This victory in New York is yet another proof that even in the most difficult times, Ukrainian diplomacy is capable of winning, and will continue to win.
