SSPI Corporate Membership pays for itself

If your company has ever sponsored an SSPI content campaign, attended the Night of Excellence or the Better Satellite World Awards Dinner in London, or considered a Better Satellite World video or podcast, here's something worth knowing: SSPI Corporate Members receive 30% off all event and content sponsorships.

At $1,095 a year for corporate membership, that discount pays for itself quickly. A single sponsorship at member rates more than covers the cost of joining.

And membership goes further than the discount. Your company gets named presence in the SSPI community, unlimited employee memberships at no additional cost, and this year, new corporate members are invited onto the SSPI Podcast to share their voice with the senior professionals and decision-makers who follow this industry closely.

If your company is already spending with SSPI, or is planning to, membership is the straightforward first step.

This session explores:

- Where early opportunity is taking shape

- What signals matter to investors and operators

- How safety and reliability influence decision-making

- How organizations are positioning themselves for what comes next

Featured speakers include:

- Shatel Bhakta, ESDMD SAO Lunar Architecture Team Lead, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration

- Stephen Eisele, CEO, Lonestar Data Holdings Inc.

- Jessica Gregory, VP, Civil Space Programs, Voyager Technologies

- Zack Hester, Head of U.S. Office, Novaspace

- Paolo Pino, Co-Founder & CTO, Volta Space Technologies

The Better Satellite World Awards recognize established companies and disruptive innovators using satellite applications to make our world more prosperous, healthier, better-educated, safer, and more inclusive. This year, we have added Sustainability as a recognized impact category, opening a new pathway for nominees whose work builds the systems, services, and infrastructure that keep space and terrestrial environments viable for future generations.

Nominations are due Friday, 4 September 2026.

To nominate, download the nomination form and follow the submission instructions included.

Winners will be honored at the Better Satellite World Awards Dinner on 7 December 2026 in London. A hub of space and satellite activity and a natural gathering point for our global community, London brings together the industry voices and leaders who make this evening a fitting close to the year. At the Dinner, the SSPI-UK Chapter also presents the UK Space & Satellite Personality of the Year Award.

Quvia: Aviation connectivity is about more than just bandwidth.

In our latest SSPI podcast conversation, we speak with Mike Moeller of Quvia about what happens when connectivity ecosystems evolve faster than aircraft deployment cycles.

For years, the aviation industry focused on adding more connectivity: more satellites, more throughput, more coverage.

But as GEO, LEO, multi-orbit systems, new antennas, and hybrid network environments expand, a different challenge is emerging: complexity.

In this episode of From Connectivity to Intelligence, Mike explains why airlines are now dealing with environments too dynamic to manage through traditional policy-based systems alone.

One insight that stood out: by the time a connectivity upgrade reaches an entire fleet, the connectivity landscape itself may already have changed.

Listen in and see how Quvia hopes to help.

SSPI Board Election Now Open

Learn more here: https://www.sspi.org/leadership-team

We are pleased to announce the slate for the 2026-2027 SSPI Board of Directors election, and your vote matters.

SSPI periodically opens nominations for service on its Board of Directors, in accordance with its bylaws. Nominations may be submitted by members and are reviewed by the Board as part of SSPI's affirmative nominations process. The Board considers organizational needs, representation, and alignment, and provides guidance to the Executive Director regarding which individuals should be invited to stand for election.

This year, five professionals are standing for election. Three were appointed by the Board to complete the terms of directors who had to vacate their seats, and this election marks their first full three-year terms:

- Daniel Gizinski, President, Satellite & Space Communications Segment, Comtech Telecommunications Corp.

- Shruti Vyas, Head of Programmes, SES Satellites

- Stephen Hanna, PMP, WorldView Space Product Manager, Vantor

Joining them on the slate are two professionals who are joining the Board for the first time:

- Stella Guillen, Chief Commercial Officer, Isar Aerospace

- Mark Mozena, Vice President of Government Affairs, Planet

To learn more about the nominees and view the full proposed slate, visit the SSPI Leadership Team page: https://www.sspi.org/leadership-team

Voting is open through June 5th. The ballot takes just a few minutes to complete and also gives you the opportunity to share any comments.
