The Juniors Committee of the New England Society will be hosting a historic event as an ode to the first NES reception open to women, held 150 years ago on February 6, 1872 at Delmonico's. The original 1872 event netted a $281.15 profit and “all agreed to hold it annually.”

As our members know, NES was founded in 1805 with the goal of promoting "friendship, charity and mutual assistance" among and on behalf of New Englanders living in New York. We look forward to celebrating the many women who have contributed to NES over the past 150 years.

Join us Thursday, February 24th at the Players Club from 6:30 to 8:30 PM for passed hors d’oeuvres as well as wine, beer, and soft drinks. Be sure to register soon as possible as the price will go up February 18th to $100 per ticket.

Ticket Pricing:
Juniors (must be for 40 or under): $65
Members: $75
Non-members: $85
Post-Early-Bird (after 2/18/22): $100

Two Centuries and Counting...

The New England Society in the City of New York (NES) is one of the oldest social and charitable organizations in the United States, and was founded in 1805 to promote "friendship, charity and mutual assistance" among and on behalf of New Englanders living in New York. We celebrate the New England spirit and heritage through philanthropic outreach, social events and cultural activities. Our charitable focus is education: The NES Scholarship Program assists New York City students at New England colleges and universities. Another signature program is the annual New England Society Book Awards, which annually recognize books of merit that honor New England and its culture.
