On , Singapore joined other Members of the Green Group (comprising Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Iceland, Slovenia, and the United Arab Emirates) in expressing the Group’s views on the importance of the ocean - Earth’s most vital life-support system.

Singapore commits to working with all our partners to restore the health and enhance the resilience of our oceans.

A safe, secure and sustainable ocean is essential to Singapore’s prosperity and resilience. We will work together with the international community to uphold international law, including navigational rights and freedoms as reflected in the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and advance the effective implementation of the BBNJ Agreement for the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity.
