Garifuna Health and Education Support Initiative Garifuna Health and Education Support Initiative (GaHESI) is an organization that supports and coordinates cross-cultural programs in health and education.

GaHESI, is an organization registered in the State of New York as a Not-for-Profit institute, and currently seeking 501(c)(3) filing status. Our institute has a broad range of objectives in support and coordination of cross-cultural programs in healthcare and education, as well as to establish a network of support for the First Popular Garífuna Hospital. GaHESI seeks partnership opportunities with

academic institutions in the United States to expose students and faculty members by establishing a forum of learning about cross-cultural experiences and exposing them to the uniqueness of the Garífuna Culture; declared a "Masterpiece of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO in 2001. In order for GaHESI to build the needed support network for cross-cultural and academic partnerships, for students and faculties, with institutions in the US and the First Popular Garífuna Hospital in Honduras, we ask that you champion selected programs, as well as support funding and volunteer services.
