Manhattan Community Board 4 Manhattan Community Board 4 comprises the area between 14th and 59th streets - to the west of Eighth Av. north of 26th St., and to the west of Sixth Av.

Community Boards have an important advisory role in dealing with land use and zoning matters, the City budget, municipal service delivery and many other matters relating to their communities' welfare. south of 26th St., commonly referred to as the Chelsea and Clinton/Hell's Kitchen neighborhoods. Department of Design & Construction Project MED669: Distribution Water Main Replacement - Update

The temporary water shut-off scheduled for

Monday, August 31, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM approximately,

has been CONFIRMED at the following location:

West 15th Street, from 7th Avenue to 8th Avenue

This temporary water shut-off is necessary to support the installation of the new water main and the connection of property water services. In some cases, work may be completed earlier and water service restored ahead of schedule.

Please be advised that, due to the Con Edison Heat Advisory, the temporary water shutdown scheduled for

Monday, August 10, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

has been CANCELLED for the following locations:

West side of 7th Avenue, between West 15th Street and West 16th Street
West 15th Street, from 7th Avenue to 8th Avenue

24-hour notices will be issued to confirm or cancel the planned water shutdowns for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
Advance Notices have been and will continue to be emailed and distributed to the affected areas for each required shutdown.

Please be advised that the temporary nighttime water shutdowns scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5, through Friday, August 7, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, on West 28th Street between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue have been CANCELLED.

There will be no interruption to water service for the remainder of the week. The work will be rescheduled, and advanced notification will be provided once new dates are confirmed.

🚨 Free kids program in our district!

This week started the Police Athletic League’s Summer Playstreet at McCaffrey Playground (W43rd St/ 9th Ave) and we were happy to cut the ribbon to kick off the program.

The PAL Summer PlayStreet program provides a safe, supervised environment where children and teens can play, socialize, and participate in sports, recreational activities, and games. The Playstreet is a free, drop-in program, open to all, no registration is required.  

The program runs until August 21, Mondays through Thursday, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and is open to children and teens ages 8-17.
*Caretaker supervision encouraged for younger ages.

A big thank you to the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the funding and investment here in Hell's Kitchen.
