My office has been made aware of a fatal construction accident that occurred on Turdor Road earlier this week.
A "Stop Work" Order has been issued and NYC Buildings investigations are ongoing.
We will continue to monitor this situation.

I wish to send my heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the construction worker who died in this tragic accident.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of US Army Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad, a proud Queens native from Ozone Park who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation.

Sgt. Rampersad exemplified courage, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to protecting others. Her service to our country and her devotion to her community will never be forgotten.

I wish to share my sincere condolences to her family, friends, fellow service members, and all who are mourning this tremendous loss. We stand united in honoring Sgt. Rampersad’s life, service, and sacrifice.

May her memory be a blessing.

Postal inspectors are reminding consumers to beware of IMPOSTER SCAMS: the person on the other end of that digital communication might not be who they claim to be. These scams are designed to steal money and identity.
Each of the four types of imposter scams starts with messages like, “I’m in trouble…,” “I need…,” “You’ve won!…,” or “I have a great offer for you!” These scammers lull consumers into a false sense of trust, gain access to privileged information, and then drain financial accounts.

Secure the mail. Deliver justice. Protect us all. For 250 years, we have protected the U.S. Mail and everyone who uses it.

I am happy to announce that we will be hosting a compost giveaway in Cunningham Park (Union Turnpike and 196th Place) on June 25th.

The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

We will be handing out compost from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to those who have made reservations. Upon arrival, please check in with staff so they can verify your name and RSVP.

At 5:00 p.m., we will distribute any remaining compost on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of reservation status. Please make every effort to arrive within the specified time frame to secure your bag.

Below will take you to form which needs to be filled in order to complete your reservation. PLEASE NOTE: attendees may only take a maximum of 2 bags of compost per household.
