The Consulate General of Barbados at New York extends congratulations to Mr. Winston “Culpepper” Lewis on receiving the Caribbean American Leader Award during today’s Caribbean American Heritage Month celebration.

For 28 years, Mr. Lewis has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to serving the Brooklyn community and beyond through Culpepper Restaurant. His dedication, hard work, and passion for authentic Barbadian cuisine have helped foster a deeper appreciation of Caribbean culture, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds through food, hospitality, and community engagement.

This well-deserved recognition celebrates not only his entrepreneurial success but also his significant contributions to the Caribbean-American community. On hand to represent the Consulate was Shelly-Ann Griffin, our Community and Cultural Affairs Officer, who also relayed the sentiment of appreciation on behalf of the Consulate.

The Consulate General wishes Mr. Lewis continued success and looks forward to seeing the many ways he will continue to share the rich culinary traditions of Barbados with future generations.
