The Philippine Consulate General in New York congratulates the New York Knicks for their historic 2026 NBA Championship victory.

We also take pride in Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson, shooting guard of the New York Knicks, whose achievement is a proud moment for the Filipino diaspora. Clarkson visited the Philippine Center in New York in 2017, where he was warmly welcomed by the Filipino-American community.

Let's go, Knicks! 💙🧡🏀

The Philippine Center in New York marked the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence with a solemn flag-raising ceremony under the theme “KALAYAAN. KINABUKASAN. KASAYSAYAN.” The event united the Philippine government agencies in New York to honor our heritage and reinforce democratic values.

In a special address, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. challenged the global diaspora to build a nation of dignity and opportunity. This call was echoed by Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, newly appointed Tourism Secretary Bernardita Angara-Mathay, and UN Permanent Representative Enrique A. Manalo, who praised the diplomatic staff's dedication to representing the nation with credibility under the vision of Bagong Pilipinas.
