Today we want to be honest about what so many Latino families are living.

They weren't criminals. They were fathers who built this country with their hands, paid their taxes, and raised their children to believe in a future here. More than half of deported dads had no criminal record. They were taken anyway.

The most powerful thing you can do for the people you love is refuse to be invisible. Know your rights. Show up. Vote.

Yesterday we celebrated Juan Luis Guerra, born June 7, 1957, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The man who took merengue and bachata, music that was dismissed and looked down upon, and carried it to every stage in the world.

27 Latin Grammys. 30 million records sold. Thank you for your music, your poetry, and for carrying our culture to the world with pride and heart.
