Hunger is rising across NYC, but the City Budget can fund a proven lifeline for children and families.

1 in 4 New York City children do not have enough food to eat and federal SNAP cuts are driving more families to food pantries than ever.

Community Food Connection (CFC) is a city program that supports more than 700 food pantries and soup kitchens across the city.

The city must invest $100 million to meet this rising demand.

New York City's affordability crisis is a child well-being crisis. Tuesday night, CCC launched Keeping Track of New York City's Children 2026 — and the data make that undeniable.

CCC Executive Director Raysa S. Rodriguez said: "The affordability crisis is a child well-being crisis. And because it is a child well-being crisis, it is our crisis — every single one of us."

Thank you to Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Helen Arteaga, FPWA CEO & ED Jennifer Jones Austin, New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin, and Trinity Church NYC Chief Philanthropy Officer Bea De La Torre for joining the conversation.

Thank you also to the many partners, advocates, and civic leaders who joined us. Closing the gap between where we are and the city children deserve requires all of us.

NY we need your support!

The Maternal Health, Dignity, and Consent Act could make its way to the floor for a vote. It's time to act!

Please call Speaker Heastie, Senate Majority Leader Stewart Cousins, and your Assemblymember to urge them to vote on this bill.

We must pass this bill to ensure that pregnant people seeking healthcare across the state, regardless of zip code, have the right to informed consent before they are drug tested.

: After a child is in the foster system for 15 of the most recent 22 months, the system can move to terminate a parent’s rights.

Termination of parental rights can make it impossible for children to stay connected to their parents, communities, and culture.

When a child’s parental rights are terminated, New York’s family courts cannot order continued contact with their family of origin — even when continued family engagement is in children’s best interest.

The Preserving Family Bonds Act changes that.

Every day a student is suspended is a day of learning lost.

New York students lose hundreds of thousands of classroom days each year to out-of-school suspensions.

Disproportionately, Black and Latine students, students with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ youth are impacted, often for minor infractions.

These suspensions don't address behavior—they fuel the school-to-prison pipeline, deepen disengagement, and push students out of school entirely.

The Judith S. Kaye Solutions Not Suspensions Act (S.134/A.118) would end this cycle.

State leaders must act to replace punitive, exclusionary discipline with restorative, age-appropriate approaches that keep students in school and support their success.

Take action with us now: https://bit.ly/SNSNY27

New York Youth Need Solutions, Not Suspensions Schools should be a place of learning, exploration, and support. Sadly, it is impossible to create that environment when students are being suspended at alarming rates for prolonged periods of time. New York must end punitive measures and advance restor...

Median incomes rose by 18% for families with children over the past five years, but inflation on basic goods and services has significantly outpaced this growth.

Food prices rose 29% and housing costs are up 26%.

Families are struggling, and child well-being is at stake.

This is one of dozens of findings in CCC's 2026 Keeping Track data book.

Join us for an in-person event to learn more and hear how city leaders are using this data to demand better for NYC's children and families.
