Police Officer Harminder S. Grewal #239

Five years ago, we lost Police Officer Harminder S. Grewal, Galt Police Department, in the line of duty. His memory, his sacrifice, and the impact he had on those who knew him will never be forgotten.

The Sikh Officers Association proudly honors Harminder’s legacy each year through the Sikh Hoops Basketball Tournament, where we presented the “Harminder S. Grewal MVP Trophy” to a deserving player.

It is our small way of ensuring that Harminder’s name continues to be spoken, his story continues to be shared, and his sacrifice continues to inspire future generations.

Today, on the 5th anniversary of his line of duty death, we remember not only the officer who made the ultimate sacrifice, but the son, brother, friend, colleague, and member of our Sikh community who will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Lieutenant Navdeep Singh is also a proud co-founder of the Sikh Officers Association. His dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to both the NYPD and the community continue to inspire those around him.

Today, the NYPD Sikh Officers Association was proud to participate in Fraternal Day, meeting with recruits and trainees as they explored the many fraternal organizations within the department.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with future officers, share our mission, and speak about the importance of representation, mentorship, and service within law enforcement. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the SOA table and took the time to learn more about our organization and the Sikh community in policing.

We look forward to continuing to support and guide the next generation of officers.

The Sikh Officers Association proudly participated in National Police Week in Washington, DC, paying tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We stood united at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, honoring the fallen heroes whose selfless service and unwavering dedication will never be forgotten.

As we remembered those who gave their lives to protect our communities, we were humbled to represent our great department alongside law enforcement officers from across the nation. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families of the fallen, and we are committed to carrying on their legacy of courage and sacrifice.
