AF3IRM NYC We are the New York chapter of AF3IRM, a US-based organization of transnational/intersectional feminists developing theory and practice. J.

AF3IRM is a national organization of women engaged in transnational feminist, anti-imperialist activism. AF3IRM’s diverse, multi-ethnic membership is committed to militant movement-building from the United States and affects change through grassroots organizing, trans-ethnic alliance building, education, advocacy and direct action. AF3IRM has chapters around the country. These include: Boston, Irvine, Los Angeles, Los Angeles – South Bay Unit, New York/New Jersey, San Diego, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Organizing committees are also actively building new chapters in other areas. AF3IRM is supported by the A. Muste Memorial Institute, a non-profit tax-exempt charity, which acts as its fiscal sponsor.

As we write in our new op-ed:

“Ask most people who’s responsible when a victim is recovered and they'll name the trafficker. But almost no one names the man who paid for the transaction in the first place—even though without him, there is no transaction to prosecute. No industry to begin with.”

In just the six World Cup host markets we targeted with our campaign, state and federal anti-trafficking operations recovered more than 250 trafficking victims, including over 50 children. When we know demand will increase, we have an opportunity to deter it before women and girls are exploited.
