Summer Institute is only a few short weeks away! So we're reflecting on the brilliance of last summer. 🌞

In the Power, Identity & Privilege (PIP) class at our 2025 Queens Summer Institute, Nashers created a collaborative zine exploring home, community, and the impact of gentrification on their neighborhoods. Led by faculty Marian Fragoso and deans Gabrielle Garcia and Angelina Bravo, the zine features Nasher's reflections on these questions:

This month we are sharing reflections on Pride from SNLP community members. Today, we're highlighting reflections from Nasher Alum, Nicole Rios (she/her) on the impact of SNLP Programming as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. 🏳️‍🌈💜

"Pride month is important to me, because it helps spread love and awareness for the right to self expression. The month itself also creates a safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals, such as myself, to showcase what it means to live with pride. Being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and participating in Sadie Nash gave me a space to feel comfortable and create change in the same way LGBTQIA+ community members have done before." - Nicole Rios

Do you still have a project from your time at Sadie Nash? We want it for the Nasher Liberation Library Archive! 📚

We're collecting nearly 25 years of Nasher creativity– from posters, presentations, podcasts, zines, skits, and poems to anything else you've created along the way. ✨

Submit your work through the Google Form linked in our bio by July 31st and receive early access to alumni events and exclusive Sadie Nash swag! 💜

What would you bring to the fight for gender justice?

During the Sadie Nash program at International High School at Laguardia Community College, Nashers explored gender-based political movements from around the world, including 8M, Take Back the Night, and more. Inspired by these movements, they created posters imagining the messages, demands, and visions they would bring to an action against gender inequality.

Led by Faculty Member Marian Fragoso, this activity encouraged Nashers to connect history, activism, and creativity while envisioning a more just future.

Yesterday, we held a final celebration picnic to mark the end of Nasher Voice Lab! Nashers reflected on the last few months and celebrated their achievements from making social media content to speaking on panels to brainstorming fundraising strategies! 🌈⭐

Nasher Voice Lab is a new program we piloted this year, where previous Nashers were able to shape the stories, strategy, and spirit of SNLP.

The ELLA Fellowship — named for social activist Ella Baker — stands for Engage, Learn, Lead, and Act. ELLA Fellows bring meaningful, ambitious social justice projects to life through our eight month program that offers a $1350 stipend, 1:1 mentorship in project planning and management, and skills-based training at monthly retreats.
