MinKwon Center 민권센터 Organizing, educating, and serving low-income Korean and Asian immigrant communities since 1984.

The MinKwon Center for Community Action (formerly YKASEC) was established in 1984 to meet the needs and concerns of the Korean American community through our five program areas: Community Organizing and Advocacy, Social Services, Civic Participation, Youth, and Culture. Since our founding, we have made a profound presence in the Korean American community through various grassroots organizing, education, and advocacy initiatives that address important community issues, including immigration policies at the national, state and city levels, voter rights, and cultural awareness.

이번 10월, Korean Health Coalition은 한인 커뮤니티를 대상으로 유방암 검진과 조기 발견의 중요성을 알리고자 합니다.

유방암은 여성에게 발생하는 가장 흔한 암 중 하나입니다. 정기적인 검진은 유방암을 조기에 발견하는 데 도움이 되며, 조기에 발견할수록 치료가 더 수월할 수 있습니다. 하지만 언제 검진을 받아야 하는지, 유방촬영검사(맘모그램)는 어떻게 진행되는지, 어디에서 검진을 받을 수 있는지 알아보는 과정이 막막하게 느껴질 수 있습니다.

🎀This October, the Korean Health Coalition is raising awareness about breast cancer screening and early detection for Korean community members.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women. Regular screening can help detect breast cancer early, when it may be easier to treat. However, knowing when to get screened, what a mammogram involves, and where to find care can feel overwhelming.

For our screening guide, you’ll find information to help our community:
