Meet the Teacher:
Nivita is a junior studying Computer Science. She is involved with the South Asian Feminism(s) Alliance group on campus, as well as in the activist world with No Red Tape. She also volunteers weekly at a local soup kitchen, through Columbia's Community Lunch Soup Kitchen. She loves to teach, because she believes that teaching is just another form of learning; while teaching and working with younger students, she has often found herself learning just as much as her students do. Aside from the Project Piano Initiative, she also works PS 76 as a teacher for their after-school program.

Meet the Teacher: Amy started the Project Piano Initiative in the summer of 2016 to bring together the DDC students and Columbia’s musically talented undergrad and graduate students. She’s aware of the clunkiness of the program’s abbreviation, but she nonetheless has high hopes for the program’s students and teachers! In her other time, she is a part of the Double Discovery Student Organization board, plays too much Chopin, and is studying through the Biomedical Engineering curriculum at Columbia!

Meet the Teacher: Stephanie Borgani CC'19 hails from São Paulo, Brazil. She's at Columbia studying Russian and Jazz Studies, and also plays in MPP ensembles as a pianist and vocalist. She enjoys watching the sun rise while programming for WKCR, and her favorite music includes, but is not limited to, Soviet cartoon soundtracks and Wayne Shorter. When fully rested, she's a fan of subways, sarcasm, and pickles, and she hopes to someday experience the famed 8-hour practice routine.
