The Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge is one of the major crossings of the East River, each day carrying over 170,270 vehicles, 5,400 cyclists, and more than 2,000 pedestrians (2017 counts) between the boroughs of Manhattan and Queens. Queensboro Bridge Notice:

The rehabilitation of the Queensboro Bridge will continue with single-lane closures in the Manhattan-bound direction as shown on the attached notice from May 22nd to 26th. The North Outer Roadway carrying pedestrians and bicyclists may be narrowed during off-peak hours for a maximum of fifty feet. The path will always be available; however, pedestrians and bicyclists are advised to use caution. At least one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.

Until further notice, vehicles over thirteen feet are not allowed on the bridge.

The rehabilitation of the Queensboro Bridge will continue with upper roadway single-lane closures in each direction from May 1st to 5th. The North Outer Roadway carrying pedestrians and bicyclists may be narrowed during off-peak hours for a maximum of fifty feet. Starting April 10th and until April 29th, the NYC DOT will close both the lanes of the Queens-bound Upper Roadway at nighttime as per the schedule below for continued rehabilitation of the Upper deck. During this closure, one Manhattan-bound lane will be reversed to the Queens-bound direction. There will be always be two lanes in each direction on the lower level during this work. The NYC DOT will FULLY close Manhattan-bound Route 25 from Jackson Avenue/Northern Blvd to Crescent Street from Thursday, January 19th to Saturday, January 21st from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. This closure is required to install a protection beam to prevent over-height vehicles from entering the lower roadway. Motorists are advised to use Crescent Street ramp to access the Lower Roadway during this closure. In addition, one lane of the Upper Roadway is available during this closure.

The closure of the Crescent Street entrance ramp to the lower roadway of the Queensboro Bridge, originally scheduled for December 12th to 14th has been rescheduled to January 5th to 7th from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. This closure is required to install a protection beam to prevent over height vehicles from entering the lower roadway. The current traffic configuration on the Upper Roadways for the replacement of the upper deck as shown below, will continue until about December 9th:
o Manhattan-bound left lane closed 24/7
o Off-Peak Manhattan-bound right lane closed & Queens-bound left lane reversed
o HOV lanes into Manhattan available from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
There will always be two lanes in each direction on the lower level during this work. Queens-bound South Outer Roadway open from 6:00 a.m. to midnight.
